Surgical Elements redesigns and releases innovative new Knee Brace (with straps) design
Surgical Elements releases innovative and highest quality Knee Brace with straps (Model AK-05).
Surgical knee braces have been on the market by various companies for decades without much change, however, these braces were not without structural and operational issues.
Surgical Elements, as always, engages its clients in the design process and keeps in touch regarding quality, performance of its products as they age. With an eye on design innovation, the AK-5 is such a design improvement example, where we listened very careful to our clients needs and concerns. Much of the hardware with the old design would loosen over time, making it unserviceable, rendering the brace an unstable platform for knee surgery.
Surgical Elements decided on a complete design overhaul by changing most of the materials, strengthening hardware fixing points, making it lighter and improving the finish.
Today the main track sliding body is made out of one machined piece of anodised aluminium with 12 slide bearings instead of 6, the new upright C-Clamp posts have a larger diameter for a greater surface area, for improved stability/durability, overall this newly designed brace functions better, and looks better than its predecessors.
The AK-05 Knee Brace is in use at several surgical sites and has received high praise without any service issues.
